The food over all was good. The chicken was dry and the burnt ends were tough. The ribs and brisket were really good. I liked all the sides. I also got the beans but I assumed they would be BBQ baked beans but it was more like a charro beans. Thats my fault I should asked more questions. The bacon ranch potato salad was and the hatch chili Mac and cheese was absolutely awesome. The Mexican corn was good as well. I felt the price point was high for the amount of meat that you get.

Wow! What a great unexpected find! We really loved the ribs, sliced brisket, pulled pork and smoked sausage. Now let's talk about the birria taco! Oh baby, the crunch, the cheese, the consumme, all delightful. Best birria taco that I've ever had, and priced at $6, I would order one every time. The macaroni and cheese and potato salad were both really good, We didn't really care for the corn, as it had a very overwhelming lime flavor, but everything else was top notch. Sarah took great care of us, as did another friendly female worker, but we didn't catch her name. This place is great, and the only thing that would keep me from coming back, is the parking situation. It took us 15 minutes to find a spot.

We take our BBQ seriously in our family. We have a pretty tight top five list of favorite joints, but this place just broke into a top spot on that list for their brisket! We ordered sliced brisket, moist cut. It was so fragile that it was difficult to pick up (always a great sign). The marbeling was wonderful. This tender, slow cooked beef with a thick, savory bark melted in my mouth. No sauce necessary. Seriously one of the best briskets we have ever eaten. Hurtados is nestled right in the center of the Dallas Farmers Market off the East Quarter. They have a great patio complete with swings and corn hole. We learned that all their meat is sourced from FOUR SIxes Ranch right here in Texas. They offer tours of their smoke room. Of course we jumped at the chance to see where the magic happens. Our guide told us about their process. The smell in that room was enough to ignite the senses and wake up the taste buds. If you are looking for brisket that is out of this world, head on down to Hurtados and prepare to be amazed. P.S. other items on the menu were tasty too, but it's the brisket that will keep us coming back time after time.

## Hurtado Barbecue (Downtown Dallas) - A Smoked Perfection Hurtado Barbecue in Downtown Dallas is a *must-visit* for anyone chasing that perfect Texas 'cue. This is far from your average smokehouse; it's a place where every item, from the smoked meats to the stellar sides, hits a high note. The star of the show, the moist brisket, was absolutely superb. It lived up to its name with a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness and was crowned with a solid, flavor-packed bark that delivered that crucial textural crunch. However, the real surprise were the pork ribs. They defied expectation, holding together beautifully for the perfect bite, yet the bone slipped out so cleanly it was a marvel of pit mastery. But save room, because the **Texas Twinkies** truly stole the show—bacon-wrapped, brisket-stuffed, pimento-cheese jalapeños that are the definition of sweet, spicy, and smoky indulgence. The dedication to flavor carries through to the sides: a vibrant, delicious red coleslaw, rich loaded mashed potatoes, and brisket beans that tasted authentically smoky, as if they were straight from the fire pit. Hurtado Barbecue perfectly balances traditional technique with Tex-Mex flair, resulting in a memorable and truly delicious Dallas barbecue experience. Go for the meat, but stay for the magnificent sides.

We stumbled upon this placed when we visited The Dallas Farmer’s Market. It was Saturday during lunch time. It was busy but not crowded. We liked that they asked what cut we’d prefer for the briskets - lean, fatty or medium. The brisket was tender and seasoned well. The mac & cheese was good but ordinary. The cabbage with bacon side was simple but delicious - recommend! The bbq sauce is house made and flavorful. Wish we were hungrier to try their ribs and other meats.
