PRIVACY POLICY

Hurtado Barbecue ("Hurtado," "we," "us") is operated by Hurtado Restaurant Group, LLC, with restaurants in Arlington, Dallas, Fort Worth and Mansfield, Texas. This policy explains what information we collect when you use hurtadobbq.com, order online, buy from us, or contact us, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. What we collect

Information you give us:

Online and catering orders. Ordering runs on Toast at order.toasttab.com, including catering orders. Toast collects your name, email, phone, order details and payment; we receive the order, your name and contact details to prepare it and reach you about it. We never see your full card number. Toast's privacy policy governs its handling of your data.
Gift cards, merchandise, holiday pre-orders and nationwide shipping. These run on partner pages (Square, Tock and Goldbelly) that collect what they need to complete the purchase under their own policies; we receive the details needed to fulfil your order.
Messages and forms. When you email, call, or use a form on the site (contact, catering inquiries, careers), we keep what you send so we can reply. Form submissions are delivered to our inbox by an email service provider.

Information collected automatically when you visit the site:

Analytics. Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) records pages viewed, the buttons you use (for example, the Order Ahead button and which location you chose), approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.
Advertising tags. The Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram) and Google Ads tags record that a visit or an action such as an order-page click happened, so we can tell whether an ad brought you here. When you arrive from an ad, the click identifier in the link is stored in your browser for that purpose. Goldbelly's pixel is also on the site to measure its shipping program.
Embedded video. Pages with YouTube videos load them from YouTube, which may set its own cookies under Google's policy.
Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) logs requests, including IP addresses, to keep the site running and secure.

How we use it

To prepare your order, answer your message, and let you know about changes to an order.
To run the restaurants: accounting, tax records, fraud prevention, and understanding which days and dishes are busy.
To understand and improve the website and our advertising, described below.
To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing texts or emails you did not ask for.

How we measure advertising

We run ads on Facebook, Instagram and Google. To know whether those ads lead to orders, we share limited information with those platforms:

From the website, the pixel and tag events described above.
From online orders, we send Meta and Google a record of each order placed through our Toast ordering pages: the order value, the order number, the date and time, the location, and a hashed version of the email address and phone number you gave Toast. Hashing is one-way scrambling: the platforms receive a code, not your readable contact details, and can only use it to check whether it matches an account that saw or clicked one of our ads. We do not send your name, what you ordered, or payment information. The platforms use these records to report our ad results to us and to improve how our ads are delivered; they do not receive anything from us that identifies you to other advertisers.

You can opt out. To keep your online orders out of advertising measurement, email info@hurtadobbq.com from the address you order with and we will exclude it going forward. You can also control ad measurement in your own accounts: Meta ad preferences, Google My Ad Center, and the Google Analytics opt-out. Your browser's cookie settings and tracking-protection features apply to the tags on this site as well.

Who we share information with

Service providers that run parts of the experience for us: Toast (online ordering and point of sale), Square, Tock and Goldbelly (commerce and shipping), Google (analytics, tag management, advertising, YouTube), Meta (advertising), Vercel (hosting) and the email service that delivers form submissions. Each uses the data to provide its service to us and under its own privacy terms.
Authorities or others when the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our guests, staff and business.
A successor business if a restaurant is sold or merged.

Cookies

The site uses cookies and similar browser storage for the analytics and advertising tags above and to remember choices such as a dismissed notice. Nothing on the site requires cookies to read the menu or find a location. Blocking or clearing cookies may limit ad measurement but will not affect your order.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising. We honor these requests from anyone, wherever you live. Email info@hurtadobbq.com with "Privacy request" in the subject; we will confirm your identity through the email address or phone number we have on file and respond within 45 days. If we decline a request, we will say why, and you may ask us to reconsider. Order records held by Toast, Square, Tock or Goldbelly can also be managed through your accounts with them.

Retention and security

We keep order and correspondence records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet accounting and legal requirements, then delete or anonymize them. Analytics data is kept under Google's retention settings for our account. We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, and access limited to people who need it; no system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if a breach affects you as the law requires.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

When our practices change, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Material changes will be noted on the site for a period after they take effect.
